Final Writing Competency

I study in Business Management and I'm planning to do a bachelor in Management at McGill University. I chose to summarise the article on being a hospital administrator because I'm planning to specialize in an Entrepreneurship to become a supervisor in a public institution. I also chose this study program because managements courses enable graduates to be a business analyst in various companies, which also interests me. Also, my parents always wanted me to become a doctor and working as a hospital administrator will make them be proud of me because they will understand that although I do not went to medical school. I will work with doctors so that we can cure many patients as possible. In the paragraphs bellow, you're going to understand the daily work of a hospital administrator, academic prerequisites for accessing the labor market, employment prospects and quality of life after a few years of work experiences.

The task of a Hospital Administrator

We have all noticed that in general doctors live a life undoubtedly impressive and agitative and that they save lives almost every day. In the movies, you can see the doctors work hard to save lives and it is the same in reality. The hospital administrator is also very important in hospital, despite the fact that he is never in direct contact with patients. Indeed, he has the task of verifying the good execution of each hospital department, for example to check that the secretary takes calls, to check if the nurses dispense basic care and comfort for patients and many more. There may be several hospital administrator for each department to ensure that operations run smoothly. They are responsible for organizing and to ensure the well-being of the operation in health services and they have the obligation to give decent health care to patients. Hospital administrator must also help and assist other professionals to perform specific tasks such as attending the removal of stitches from a nurse. The admnistrator in collaboration with the human resources team have to hire and train the interns to help them integrate work more easily. He set up meetings to ensure that interns carry out their work without mistakes because this field does not allow it. Their working hours is far from the typical 9 to 5. They have an irregular schedule and they can be called in the middle of the night to make important decisions or to resolve conflicts between employees. Administrator tasks do not stop here, they need to rate all the staffs, establish regulations for emergencies and maintaining public relations with the media. Administrators also attend employee meetings, go to charity events and attend to various non-profit events. In short, this is a job where you have to be aware at all times and where you have to manage stress effectively.

Education to become a Hospital Administrator and employment prospects

This job requires a master's degree in Health Services Administration. The master in health services administration includes a one-year internship in a private clinic or in a hospital. Students must stand out and impress the hospital administrator to hope retain the job after the internship. A student doing a bachelor's degree in Business Administration can also hope to be a hospital administrator but he must have in himself, abilities to work in teams and to manage administrative tasks with managers and medical staff. Health services administrators begin their careers as administrative assistants. Over the years, their bosses give their more responsibility until they become partners. Then one day, they can expect to be a CEO and even move to another state to occupy this prestigious job. At that time, the big salaries are coming up with interesting increases from year to year. We can talk about wages up to $125,000. In addition, the union of hospital administrators adequately protects workers with social benefits as covered expenses for which to relate to health. Many jobs are excepted in the years to come due to the population growing at a high speed. These opportunities of career will be mainly available in larger hospitals, but also in older home centers where health administrator will treat olds ill patients. I intend to personally go to work in Los Angeles because the city is energetic a bit like New York, the weather is good all year round and there is less income tax than Quebec. Then, with the money saved on taxes I would like to open an advertising agency to produce advertisements that spend on television and radio. Still, before doing this, I have to get my university degree first.

Start here

It all started like this.

I just got my university degree in business administration. It is with joy that I announced to my parents that I now a university graduate from Hec Montreal. I specialized in finance, and I got straight A's, which will interest employers to hire me. However, I still have not decided on what field I will start my professional career. Indeed, many choices available to me, I currently hesitate to hold a position as a certified professional accountant, as a broke or to take vacation in Lebanon.

Choice 1: I decided to become a professional accountant.
Choice 2: I decided to become a broker.
Choice 3: I decided to take vacation in Lebanon.

Choice 1.

My father could not be prouder of my career choice. Professional Chartered Accountant! He told me that with this job I will have a future in Canada and that wages were excellent. Then, the prestigious Sleeman brewery had offered me a job in downtown Montreal. On my first day of work, my car refused to start. I didn’t want to leave a bad first impression of me, so I had decided to take the subway because I didn’t want to be late. When I was waiting for the train, the employees of the transportation service announced that there was a slowdown on the line and it would take at least 45 minutes to return to normal. I panicked, so I started to run out to call a taxi. Unfortunately, I had not looked at both sides of the road, and a car had hit me dangerously. I woke up in the hospital and the doctor confirmed that I would be paralyzed for the rest of my life. I passed as a man with a bright future in accounting to a poor man in a wheelchair. The months that came after the accident were very difficult, I even tried to commit suicide. Luckily, my father saved me before I commit this irreparable act. However, I eventually build a close relationship with my father, we were inseparable, and we took care of the other like a real family.

Choice 2.

When I was little, I always dreamed of being a broker on Wall Street. This is probably the american cinema that had affected my tiny brain on the decision of my future profession, but I see myself still hold that position. My young child dream was made on October 15, when I received by mail a letter confirming me an internship at the New York Stock Exchange. The letter said that I was distinguished me from other competitors by my academic results and that if I was working effectively, I would have a chance to hold a full-time job. Then, I had headed to New York City having in mind performing at my best. When I arrived in this city, I was impressed by the size of these buildings. The next day began my first day of work at the New York Stock Exchange. My supervisor barely greeted me. He made me sit in a small cubicle and had given me a phone by mentioning that I had to sell assets to most customers possible. The working atmosphere was terrible, all my coworkers yelled on the phone, cigarette in hand hoping to sell goods and make a commission. I had not managed to sell anything, I stressed so much that I was afraid I didn't choose the right career choice. After three days of work, I could not handle it properly, so I decided to end my internship. My supervisor had not even wished good luck for the future. Finally I decided to go to Montreal to continue a life less stressful.

Choice 3.

I have not managed to find a job in the business field, so I decided to take time to travel to Lebanon to visit my cousins. When I arrived in Lebanon, I took advantage of my free time going to the beach, dining in great restaurants and visiting medieval castles. Mike my cousin with whom I spent most of my days owned a paint company in London. He then offered me a position as manager because I was the only person who spokes English and especially that it has been more than three months that this position was vacant. At this moment, I realized that speaking English was very beneficial to me! So, I thanked my cousin for this amazing career opportunity and I took a single ticket for London. My main tasks as manager were to find and convince customers to buy my paint brand, to ensure the company's profitability and to take care of administrative tasks related to financial transactions such as budgets and deposits. Employees working for me were very friendly, it fostered an excellent working atmosphere. I especially liked an employee whose name was Sara. One September day, I took a deep breath and I invited her to go out with me. She said yes. The evening was magical, we both fell in love. She later moved into my apartment and I loved spending time with her. Things were becoming more serious, so I decided to marry her after 1 year of relationship. I thanked my cousin over a million times to have changed my life for the better!

3 good reasons to study in business management

In 2014, I began my first semester at Cegep Ahuntsic in business. For those of you who do not know, the Cegep is the transition between high school and University. It is only offered in the province of Quebec in Canada. The pre-university program teaches us the basis for many management courses, such as economics, marketing, and mathematics. We also learn about social change and how to evaluate their impact on human relations and we learn on how the economic environment works and in which businesses it operates. I am currently studying in French, but I plan to continue my studies in an English University to find a job more easily after I graduate. So, let me give you some reasons to study  Social Science, particularly in the business management profil.

1. Good careers opportunities

A good reason to study business management, is that the career opportunities and salaries are excellent. Indeed, a person studying Business Administration has the possibility of a multitude of specializations in business. The most popular fields of study are finance, applied economics, professional accounting and marketing. This will form respectively financial analysts, economists, accredited professional accountants and marketing coordinators. These types of jobs are advantageous because wages start at $50 000 per year and offers the possibility to quickly increase earnings if a person works for a big company that generates a lot of money. Furthermore, employment prospects are very good. According to the school management HEC Montreal (http://www.hec.ca), over 95% of students who graduated with a bachelor of business administration in 2006 found jobs within six months. So, no stress of having a useless diploma in hand because the administration jobs are increasingly in demand in major cities worldwide. In short, the possibility of occupying various jobs, higher wages and the job prospects are good reasons to study in business.

2. Possibility to work overseas

An advantage that only the business administration students is the opportunity to work in another country. Many people are dreaming to on vacation in Europe or the United States, but with a degree in business administration, your dream become reality 365 days a year. Indeed, some universities have an international recognition that allow their students to work and live abroad. This allows workers to develop professional and personal skills. They can discover how perceived their country is abroad, see the world, meet new people and have fun! When you come back from a foreign country that you worked for, you can add to your CV that you have greater language ability, an understanding of foreign cultures and customs, and a new level of independence acquired during a year spent abroad. Employers will be very interested in all these strengths and chances to be hired quickly are increase for people who have worked abroad.

3. Start your own company and be your own boss

Starting a business is becoming popular, but many people stop along the way, unable to develop their businesses. However, if you have studied in business, you will know how to run a company and propel it to its highest potential. Indeed, many courses are offered on this subject in university in order to maximize the chances of successfully creating his company. Also, by starting your own company, you will enjoy unique freedom. Don't you know a lot of people who follow routine every day, taking the subway every morning and ending their workday at 5 pm? This will be over if you work for yourself since you are going to organize your own work schedule. Moreover, you will be able to choose your partners and agree to work only with the people you will bond with and have a great workflow. You will eventually feel some pride to have succeeded or tried to create a viable and sustainable business.

Conclusion

In conclusion, studying in business is a smart choice to do because of high wages, interesting career opportunities, the chance to work abroad, and the fact of being the boss of your own company. I hope I have convinced you to pursue business management studies and feel free to rate this article!
